According to Sin Chew, Vietnam police confiscated approximately 320,000 used condoms that had been cleaned and were to be resold as new to mainly red-light district.
A 32-year-old woman, who is the owner of the factory, used to work in a red-light district. She started the operation of the underground factory repackaging the used condoms, after her “retirement”.

She said they had received a “monthly input of used condoms from an unknown person” and further explained that the used condoms were first boiled in water then dried and reshaped on a wooden dildos.
The cleaned condoms were then repackaged and resold. She added she was paid $0.17 (RM 0.71) per kg for the condoms. However, it was not known how many of the recycled condoms had already been sold, reported by BBC.

The police seized 324,000 condoms, weighed 360kg and a few thousands of repackaged condoms were found in the factory.
The woman was detained for further investigation.
