The girls’ mother was last known working in Singapore 3 years ago. She had been sending them RM100 only once and not contactable after that. While the father was working in Kuala Rompin, he will visit the girls once in a while and gave them RM50 each, reported by China Press.

The girls are currently staying with their uncle who is a welding worker, he is working the whole day and only will be home at night. Sometimes, their uncle will bring home takeaway food. But, most of the time, in the afternoon and evening, they will be eating instant noodles.

In the bad days, when there is no food and they have no money. They will just starve until their uncle is home. Their washing machine is no longer working. so the sisters just hand wash their clothes. They used to wear a wet uniform to school when their clothes are not dry.

According to The Star, the JC Taman Tas parent-teacher association chairman Yeoh Kok Bin said the father rarely returns home and it is difficult to reach him.

Yeoh said the girls are of mixed Orang Asli-Chinese descent, seldom attend school, and would give excuses such as oversleeping when asked why they were absent. Thus, they had been left behind in their studies.

The school’s headmistress visited them and even gave them mattresses and pillows last month but these were all chewed up by the dogs.

The school administration had contacted the girls’ uncle numerous times to discuss their living situation but he always avoided meeting them.

Meanwhile, Teruntum assemblyman Sim Chon Siang got the Social Welfare Department to intervene and after talking to the girls and their uncle, he agreed to send the three of them to the Rapha Children’s Home temporarily.
