One restaurant in Kuantan was said to charge unreasonable prices to its patron who brought along his own seafood for cooking. He was charged RM1,286 for 3 tables which includes cooking charges for the raw seafood, white rice, fried vegetables, and some drinks.
However, when the restaurant was contacted by China Press. They do not want to comment on anything.
The restaurant patron shared on social media that he and his family having a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night. They took up 3 tables, ordered 2 types of vegetables cost RM 135 ( RM45 per table), 16 bottles of beer cost RM 272 ( RM17 per bottle), 26 bowls of white rice, 10 cans of 100Plus, and 10 bottles of herbal tea.
He said he was shocked when he settled the bill because it’s amounting RM1,286. After the deducted the price for vegetables and beers which is RM407, White rice, 100Plus, and herbal tea were priced at RM399, and RM480 is the cooking charges for the prawns, Mantis shrimps, and fishes they brought over.
When he asked her whether she priced wrongly, the lady boss can be heard saying ” cooking charges are normally high” in a voice recording over the conversation of him questioning the details of the cost.
The lady boss explained cooking charges for 3 fishes cost RM180, RM60 each. While Mantis shrimps and prawns priced Rm150 each, so total will be RM480.
He then asked the remaining RM399 is the price for white rice, 100Plus and herbal tea and she said yes.
