Recently, on 21 Oct Hannah Yeoh has stated on her social media platforms to call out the minister stated that the defense minister using his daily press conference as a platform to show off his multiple shirts and shelf decorations. The post gained 2.4K Retweets and 2.9K likes.
In the post she mention “I urge @IsmailSabri60 stop his daily press conference if there is no substantive announcement to help the people.”
“The press conference was not to promote his shirt or exhibition shelves. The more it was announced, the more confused the public made it!” she said.
In defence, however, the Minister of Defense claimed that he did not wish to advertise his collection on the cabinet shelf, which was the backdrop of his daily press conferences in Wisma Pertahanan according Berita Harian.
Datuk Ismail Sabri, who is also the Minister of Defense, said that the Ministry of Defense belonged to the items arranged on the cabinet shelves and visible behind them. The shelf is belongs to the MINDEF (Ministry of Defense) that still exists and is not going to be removed. “I don’t know whether to bring in the back. So, I let it go and neither did I promote it.” he said.
The press conferences of Ismail Sabri also draw the interest of netizens on social media, so many people jokingly try to bid for any thing on the cabinet shelves.
He claimed that his press conference presented the public with updates on government actions, including the arrest of citizens who refused to obey the Restoration Movement Control Order (PKPP) directives.

From these photos during the broadcast of Datuk Ismail Sabri’s press conference, various items were placed on the cabinet shelves. However, Ismail Sabri stated that his also intention is only to give information to the public about Covid-19 progress and Restoration Movement Control Order (PKPP) not to show off his items on his shelf.
We think it is better for the public focus on the positive side and team up to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
