A fitness influencer, named Dmitriy Stuzhuk, 33, who had once told his social media followers that there was no COVID-19, has died after contracting the virus.
Stuzhuk from Ukraine, was a social media star with more than 1 million followers, who promoted healthy living. According to Sky News, he contracted the virus on a trip to Turkey on September.
He had woken up in Turkey with a swollen neck and struggling to breathe. After returning to Ukraine, he was admitted to hospital. Unfortunately, he was tested positive for Covid-19.
Stuzhuk was discharged 8 days later, but, his condition deteriorated and was rushed back to the hospital again.
Stuzhuk’s ex-wife Sofia, 25, has confirmed his death over her Instagram post. The couple split up 6 months ago, they had three children. As per Sofia, Stuzhuk was unconscious. She described her ex-husband’s condition as “grave”.
Sofia told her followers that Stuzhuk had “problems with his cardiovascular system… his heart is not coping. His state is extremely grave. No-one can do anything with this.”
“I did everything I could so the father of my three children lives. But nothing depends on me now,” added Sofia.
Later, she announced the demise of Stuzhuk. “Dima is no longer with us. His heart could not stand”.
Before his passing, he did posted on social media from hospital bed, warning everyone about the disease.
He told his followers: “I was one who thought that Covid does not exist…until I got sick.
“COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE! And it is heavy.”
