A 73-year-old man was arrested for driving against traffic flow and causing two accidents at about 5pm, yesterday (Oct 29) .
He was believed wanted to go to a supermarket in Section 13, Shah Alam, but he lost his way and then accidentally drove into the Kemuning Shah Alam Expressway (LKSA) when he realised he did not have a Touch n’ Go card.
He decided to turn back and drive against traffic to return to his house in Section 8.
The elderly man in his Perodua Kelisa was driving in opposite direction down the LKSA heading towards Shah Alam city centre, causing accidents at Km3.1 and Km6.6.
At Km3.1, a 33-year-old motorist was injured when the Honda City he was driving overturned while trying to avoid him.
While at Km6.6, a Perodua Myvi collided with the car after failing to swerve in time.
A 1-minute-and-7-second video of the incident, captured by a passing motorist, was uploaded to social media and has since gone viral.
According to NST, the police spoke person said the man was detained for further action, and the case is being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
