A Malay man with pink wristband, who was supposed to undergo home quarantine, was spotted with his family in one of the shopping mall in Melaka.
He tried to cover the pink wristband with his watch, however it’s been spotted by one of the eagle -eye netizen when he carried his kid. The netizen who posted the photo on social media said she immediately reported it the Mall management.
According to Sin Chew, police was alerted on the incident and reached the said shopping mall at 9.30pm. They found the 45-year-old man with pink wristband and his wife. The police spoke person added the man is with hearing impairment.
The man then admitted he was one of the close contact of an individual who tested positive and supposed to undergo home quarantine from Sep 30 to Oct 15.
“The suspect also failed to produce the quarantine order release letter from the Health Ministry as he has yet to undergo the second Covid-19 test,” said the police in a statement, reported by Bernama.
The man was arrested and later released on police bail, the case was being investigated under Section 22 (b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
