To own a property is a lot of people’s dream. However, It’s not easy to materialise it especially you are in metropolitan like Seoul. It will be even harder when you don’t have a strong cash position.
A newly wed couple in South Korea spend 300 mil Won ( RM 1 mil) to build their dream house. Even local government also praised them on their amazing architecture. Their ultra modern tiny house will definitely blow your mind.
The couple always wanted to stay in city centre of Seoul. However, to own a property within the city is too costly. But with the limited budget in hand, they managed to get a piece of land (34 square meters) sits on top of a hill next to the old Seoul wall close to Dongdaemun.
Probably you will think how can the couple utilised such a small piece of land to build a place where they called home? The husband who is an architect had a long interest in building small houses, thus he build a 5-storey building with each floor with it’s own function.
Ground floor will be the garage, first floor is the working space for the couple, kitchen will be on second floor, bedroom on the third floor while washroom will be on the fourth floor. The tiny house featured a bright interior with white walls, many windows and wooden furniture.
The actual size of the tiny house is about 16 square meters but the husband’s design maximised the space utility of each and every corner. He created a lot of space for storage and also a rooftop where they hang their clothes.
It’s a tiny house concept but it doesn’t mean they lived in a compact space, their second floor which is the kitchen come with a big dining table and fully equipped with stove, fridge and oven. The washroom is spacious and they can enjoy the nice scenery outside while showering.
According to Korea Times, The couple settled in March last year and this year, their house won the best architecture award conferred by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
