A man, former project manager fumed over company decision on his termination, rammed his car into the company’s building and was killed an hour later run over by a trailer lorry.
The incident happened in the industrial area in Chemor, Ipoh at 6.45pm yesterday (Nov 5), the 52-year-old unhappy over company’s decision to terminate his employment rammed his Honda Civic into his former workplace.
Firstly, he alighted from his car and threw a bottle of petrol at Human Resources Department, then he re-entered his car and rammed it into a production labelling room, triggering a fire which was put out by security guards.
Soon after that, he walked out of the building using the main entrance. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident and he did not carry any weapon.
A team of policemen was dispatched to the scene to investigate the case, and the losses incurred are estimated at about RM1 million.
The police spoke person said, ” Initially investigations revealed that the man was unhappy with the company’s management for suspending him from work since September this year due to disciplinary issues, he was reported to have threatened the top management.”
However, about an hour later, police received a report that the man was killed when he was hit by a trailer lorry along Jalan Kuala Kangsar at about 7.45pm.
