M’sian Olympic Gymnast Farah Ann Now Has a Barbie Doll Modelled After Her!

We’ve heard a lot of famous celebrities from other countries having their own version of Barbie dolls and many girls have dreamt to have their own modelled Barbie doll right? That’s what our Malaysian Artistic Gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi have been achieved! She has very own Barbie doll that modelled after her by the American toy company Mattel!

The doll is designed to resemble the 26-year-old gold medalist at the SEA Games with the jet-black hair and wears a silver-studded leotard in pink, gold, and white. Since it is the first exclusive Barbie doll created in Malaysia and it will not be available in retail stores.

Farah Ann’s Barbie doll was made as part of Mattel’s  “Barbie’s Dream Gap Project” campaign for 2020 that aims to encourage young girls to pursue a career in sports through inspiring female athletes.

In this international campaign by Mattel, they also included all the big names as their role models, such as squash champion Nicol Ann David, Olympic diver Leong Mun Yee, bowler Shahlin Zulkifli and speed skater Anja Chong.

She feels really honoured to be chosen as one of the role model by Mattel. She stated “I am very honoured to be recognised as a Barbie role model for young girls in sports,”.

She also said “I believe that all of us are capable in achieving our dreams and goals no matter what it may be & you just need to remember that self-belief is your greatest weapon in achieving anything.”

Mattel also shared a video of Farah Ann inspiring a girl at the gym and also featured video clips of Farah Ann when she was a 9-year-old girl and dreaming of becoming an athlete one day on their Youtube page.

We would like to congratulate Farah Ann as she has be chosen by Mattel to be part of their campaign! We hope many girls will be inspired by her success!
