One of the guest who was also in Banjaran Hotspring Retreat sharing the horrifying experience on the landslide during her stay. Her sentimental post on social media started with, ” You will never know which comes first, accident or tomorrow.”

The guests, Ms. D and two of her friends survived the banjaran landslide. After the horrifying incident, she was sharing her experience on Facebook and also a video that her friend documented on the scene.

Ms. D said she only realised the guests who stayed nearby their villa were buried alive when she woke up in the morning. ( May the soul of the deceased, rest in peace)

“You will never know which comes first, accident or tomorrow, ” she added.

Due to CMCO, there was only 4 villa with checked-in guests, she was staying in one of the villa and the villa that the landslide hit, Villa 16 is just few doorsteps away. She thanked god that, she and the friends were not injured in the incident, but the incident causing a trauma on her.

They checked in on Nov 9, around 4.30pm. The rain started around 5.45pm, and it was pouring when they went dinner at 7pm. They finished dinner around 10pm, where the rain stopped and they walking back to their villa.

The 3 of them started drinking and chit-chatting in the villa. Around 12.10am, a devastating noise was heard but they are not sure what causing those noise, the noise was last for about 30 seconds and then a loud noise was heard again.

After that, they started to smell mud and root of the trees. At first, they thought it was just some trees tumbling down. Then soon they suspected a landslide, Ms. D said she and her boyfriend were panic till puke.

Then they realised the wifi connection, phone in their room and even the hot water from the jacuzzi were not working. Immediately, they walked out from their villa to check out. But again, when they just walked out they heard some loud noise and trees tumbling down again immediately the 3 running back to their villa.

After the loud noise was stopped, they went out to check on other villas as in front of their villa is a hilly area.

So, within half an hour there was 3 landslide, each for over 10 seconds. One should be more serious one with longer period of time and 2 shorter period of time.

Around 12.40am, we went back to our villa and used our mobile phone to called the receptionist of the resort. The staff said they heard the loud noise too, but asked them not to worry. But because they were worried, they were asking the staff to come over to explain the situation.

She also added, it’s not like what in the newspaper saying the hotel staff informed them and moved them to safer place. But in fact, they are the one who called and ask the staff to come over.

When they were in the buggy they could see trees tumbling down and the villa where the guests were buried alive was just few doorsteps away.

They were then being placed in lobby, half an hour later fire engine reached the scene. And then other guests also joining them in the lobby. Ambulance was there too, and then she lost count how many fire engine and fire fighter were there for the rescue work.

Around 3pm, they were curious why only guests from 3 villas were in the lobby, but they asked the staff, they just beat around the bush and never answered the question. Around 3++pm, then they were arranged to stay in villa which is far from the hilly area.

She ended her post with ” Thank god, We are still alive ❤️ I’m glad i’m still breathing.”
