Police Hunt Down Thieves That Snatch Necklace & Slaps Woman in a Viral Video

A CCTV footage of the robbery in a pharmacy located in Setapak, KL made its way onto social media platforms and has gone viral.

The said incident happened on Nov 21, at 8.47pm in a pharmacy in Jalan Gombak, Setapak. In the footage, a man in black t-shirt with face mask walking into the pharmacy, while another man, his partner in crime following him at the back.

The victim was standing at the cashier counter to make a payment when the man in black t-shirt approached her from behind and grabbed her necklaces. The man also can be seen slapped the woman during the struggle, reported by NST.

The cashier also attempts to help but the man manages to grab the woman’s necklace and beats her before fleeing with a Perodua Myvi that double parked outside the pharmacy. But the Myvi, which bore false license plates, is believed to have been stolen.

According to The Star, it is learnt that the two necklaces are worth about RM10,000.

However, the two suspected snatch thieves, aged 31 and 40 that caught on CCTV were arrested in a hotel lobby at Jalan Pudu, at 2am on Nov 22.

Police spoke person also added the preliminary investigations showed they were also involved in several other robberies and car break-ins in Setapak and Sentul. The two also admitted selling the stolen items to a third party, who is currently being traced and one of them also on the police’s wanted list for a drug-related case.
