A father was believed chided the son, who spending too much time on his mobile phone, the two got into a verbal argument and later a tragic turn, where the father was stabbed to death.
The incident happened on Wednesday (Nov 19), 9.30am in Simpang Pertang, Jelebu. It is learned that the 35-year-old son, who previously worked in Singapore was retrenched and back in hometown due to the pandemic. He has been living with his father and grandmother since March.
The 59-year-old father, Tan Yin Fah broke out into an argument with his son, because he thought his son spent too much time on his mobile phone. The son later told the police his father struck his back with a plastic chair and then only he stabbed him with a knife, reported by NST.
The son, who is the suspect ran away after stabbing his father. The father was bleeding and laying in the pool blood at their front door. However, he was nabbed 20 mins later after their neighbour called the police.
During the incident, the deceased mother, 85-year-old Madam Tan went out to visit her sister. She was heart-broken and regretted that she was not at home when the tragedy happened.
A neighbour shared with China Press, that two were always arguing but never thought such tragedy would happened. The suspect’s parents divorced for many years. So, the suspect was living with his father and grandmother since young.
The police spoke person said, the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, reported by The Star.
