He Is Malay, A Singer & His Mandarin Song Make a Hit in China Garners 170 Million Views

There were a lot of talented Malaysian out there~! We used to have Shila Amzah who gain her fame in China, a Malaysian Malay, non-native but sing a fluent Mandarin song. Very very impressive!

This young Malay singer, Firdhaus, 22-year-old lately making waves on China TikTok, Douyin. His original composition garnered more than 170 million views and over 1.1 million on Youtube.

Although he grew up in a Malay household, but he was sent to a Chinese school since young. Thus, he commanded the language well, not only speaks fluent Mandarin but even composing a Mandarin song.

He is the only child in the family, when he was younger, his parents weren’t as supportive in his interest in music and thought he can’t be determined on his music dream, but he did it. His parents changed their mind seeing his continuous hard work pursued his dream for about 10 years.

His latest EP “A Letter” was released in early November, especially ” Gulf of Alaska” which making a hit in douyin, even some influencers in China is getting the copyright of his song. Other songs that are in the EP including ” Hey, I Like You A Lot”, ” If I Die Pls Tell My Mum I Love Her” and “Brother”.
