A dog was found tied-up in a big transparent plastic bag and dumped near to a garbage bin. There was a massive wound around it’s neck, “I was almost in tears seeing the scrawny dog’s pitiful condition,” said the man who rescued the dog.
The kind-hearted man, Rozaidi Hashim, 50, a delivery service rider was stunned when he saw 3 men who were in truck dumped a dog in a big plastic bag in a dump site at Jalan Cheras.
“How could people dump a sick dog like garbage?’’ he told The Star. But at the same he also managed to note down the vehicle’s car plate number of the truck that dumped the poor dog.
He then untied the bag and realised there was a massive wound on it’s neck. He then gave the dog some water before contacting Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) to help the dog. Rozaidi also lodge a police report, hoping the men who abused and dumped the dog responsible for what they did.
MDDB’s volunteer called the area’s Fire and Rescue Department and firemen managed to get the dog and hand over to them. Immediately, they send the dog to the a veterinary clinic for further treatment.
The poor dog, named Rozi by MDDB’s volunteer was found to have a serious infected maggot wound in the neck. In addition, the dog is skeletal and believed lack of food for long period of time. The veterinarian who attended to the dog suspects the wound was caused by a tight chain around the neck.
MDDB director and rescue coordinator, Irene Low urged public to provide information to the police and WhatsApp a copy of the report to 017-3325160 so stern action can be taken towards those who act extremely cruel to the poor dog.
