Villagers of Kampung Melayu Majidee, Johor Bahru are spooked by some ghostly phenomenon lately, “someone” knocking on their doors in the wee hours of the morning and laughing hysterically outside the house…
One of the villager Surianida Darsuni, 40, who already stayed 17 years in the village claimed it’s her first time experienced such a spooky incident. She heard several knocks on the front door of her house between 1am and 3.30am last Thursday.
The mystery knock start at 1am. Initially, she though it was her son returning home. Thus, she ignored it but then “someone” knock again at 1.30am, she went to check out but surprisingly she did not see anyone at the door. So, she went back to her room.
“15 minutes later, the knocking resumed. Me and my husband wake up to check out again. When my husband checked the front door, we can heard knocking came from back door. It was annoying!
“ It’s was strange because that night was not windy and no rain at all. we can clearly hear door knocking sound. But then i braved myself and shouted: ‘Whoever is doing that, please stop because I am not in the mood to entertain this!’ At around 3.30pm, the knocking stopped, ” she said.
Another villager, who only wanted to be known as Ali, 39, said last Saturday, just as he was about to turn in after watching football at about 12.30am, he heard strange noises.
“I was about to go to bed when I suddenly heard someone laughing hysterically outside my house, ” he recalled.
Ali said he quickly recited some prayers before going to sleep.
Village chief Md Saleh Tukiran urged the 30,000 residents of the village to stay calm, ignored the knocking until they get the bottom of it.
“We do not know if some supernatural force is behind this or if someone is playing a bad joke on the villagers, ” he said.
He said the Village Development and Safety Committee has decided to conduct night patrols to find out who or what had been troubling the villagers, adding that they had also asked the police to increase their patrols in Kampung Melayu Majidee.
