A Homeless Man Get Hired At Caltex After He Lost His Job And Had To Sleep At The Bus Stop

Many were affected due to the MCO. Some lost their house, some lost their job and some lost everything and had to live on the street.

This is what happen to a lorry driver in KL, who lost his job due to MCO. Thankfully, luck was still on his side as he got a hired by a Caltex manager. This heart warming story was posted by Caltex Bachang on their Facebook page and that post has garnered over 1.4K likes and 648 shares!

The manager at the Caltex petrol station shared that a stranger had came by their office asking for a job and since they do recruit new worker to work in their car wash team, he was hired immediately and was supposed to start on the next Monday.

However, looking at the his appearance, the manager was curious and asked him where he’s going next. He told that he was going the the bus stop to find a place to sleep. That’s when he realised his new worker is a homeless man!

Surprised to hear that, he told him that he can start working immediately.

During his basic training, they learn that he was from east Malaysia and had working as lorry driver in KL for few years before the company had to let him go due to MCO. After that, he worked as a waiter in a a hawker stall but that also did not last long.

Wanted to try his luck in Penang but he only has enough money to go to Melaka.

“So, he took his chance in Melaka. Weeks gone by, and things became terrible for him and he has been sleeping in bus stops,” he said.

There were also days where things gotten so bad that he had to starve for few days too.

” During my lunch break, I went back and quickly packed all my unused clothes to give him. I also called up some friends who would be able to help find a rented room for him temporarily,” said the manager.

Realise the risk of taking in a homeless without a clear background, they still taking a chance on him as he is someone in need.

“We are aware of the risks, but we are talking a chance on him as he needed help and the best way to help a man or woman is to give them the dignity of work,” he explained.
