A parasite is an organism that lives on or in a host organism and gets its food from or at the expense of its host. For example, fleas on your pet dog or cat; fungus on fruits and vegetables; barnacles living on the bodies of whales.
But what happened to this family from Queensland, Australia is not about fleas, fungus, or barnacles. It’s a HUMAN parasite. You probably wondering what am I talking about?! Yes, it’s a stranger that living with you, eating your food, and more crazy act.
This lady, named Monica Green, a mother that living with her 3 children as her husband is away for work. She shared a horrifying experience as she found being living with a stranger for probably weeks.
“I felt strange because I noticed objects at home being moved around and food often gone missing,” she said.
When she tried to check on CCTV, strangely CCTV had been disabled too.
On Jan 18, Green had come home a little bit earlier than usual from a doctor’s appointment then she found the air conditioner left on, the back door open, and a half-cooked meal on her stove.
She immediately called the police. After the search, the police officer found evidence that someone living on her roof. The intruder had been using the attic door in the ceiling to living on the roof.
“I felt like it was something out of a horror film. Why was he on the roof? What has this person been doing in my house when I’m not home? What were his intentions? Was he here to harm us? Was he here to steal my kids? Were they going to come down at night and murder us? There are all these unknown questions rolling around in my head,” Green said.
“I felt violated. I felt like my personal space had been invaded. I felt shocked, terrified, scared,” she added.
Green kept a whiteboard inside the house detailing her schedule which indicated the time the family arriving home until the day when went she home earlier after the doctor’s appointment. She also believes the intruder got inside by stealing her keys and she has changed the locks.
Police gathered forensic evidence from the scene and investigations are still ongoing.
