Malaysian Influencer Posted Friend’s Funeral on Social Media Sparks Backlash

A Malaysian Influencer sparked backlash after posted the passing of his best buddy on social media, netizens questioned his motive,  “still thinking about your video eye balls on your best friend’s funeral?”

Malay Influencer, also an e-commerce merchant for beauty products Hafiz gained public attention after posted a video of him visiting his friend suffering stroke in his Facebook.

Sadly, his friend passed away due to some complications. But what netizens couldn’t believe is he documented the whole process of the funeral and even with shots focusing on him and the funeral as the background.

In his video, he can be seen wearing a navy blue long sleeve walking in style. Then the scene shifted to him crying in front of his friend’s body. From moving the deceased body to the burial rituals, although the focus is on him but still netizens outraged over his act of over exposing his best pal’s funeral, took advantage on his friend’s passing.

Following the criticism from netizens, he explained in one of his Facebook post reason being of filming his friend’s funeral was to record the last moment, mourning over death of his best friend and paying a tribute to him. However, some netizen buying it while some are not.

▼Some commented once you are influencer, your life is all about content, they don’t care what kind of content they shared because they used to share everything.

▼A twitter user said Hafiz making other’s death all about himself, his act of recording his friend’s funeral is disrespect, insensitive.

 

▼But, one FB user was moved by his video saying that’s a sincere friendship that last till the end of life.

▼This netizen commented some bashed Hafiz recording the funeral, but looking at the bright side, he just wanted to share his everlasting friendship with his best pal.

 

 

On Dec 26, he wrote on Facebook,” I can’t explain my intention. I can only showed my care & love to my friend. If anyone insults me, I don’t hate you at all. Honestly, whatever is it I intended to wish the best in them too because one day~ we are all friend”
