  • 4 cups of wheat flour
  • An egg
  • A spoonful of sugar
  • A cup of water
  • A tablespoon of salt
  • Cooking oil that would be enough to submerge the dough also to cook.

▼ Step 1: First of all, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Then, add the egg and water. Knead the dough for about 20 minutes or until it is not sticky. If you knead using your hand, use warm water but if you use a machine, use cold water.

▼ Step 2: After done, divide the dough into smaller pieces. Divide the pieces according to your preferences. If you want it to be small, can divide it into 10 pieces. If you want it to be big, can divide it into 2-4 pieces.

▼ Step 3: Arrange the dough into a container filled with cooking oil. Make sure all the dough is submerged in the oil. Let it rest for about 2 hours.

▼ Step 4:  After 2 hours, make a place for you to spread the dough. Flipped a big tray on the bucket and use a smaller tray to put Roti Canai.

▼ Step 5: Take one ball of dough and spread it like the picture. Let it rest about 3-4 minutes before spread it bigger. The process of resting it for 3-4 minutes will make the dough become softer and easy to spread.

▼ Step 6: Spread the dough into a bigger circle and pull it slowly. You have to be really patient as you need the dough to be very thin.
