Few days back, a video of a car stopping by the bridge and a woman can be seen throwing plastic bags through the car’s window into the river in Kelantan went viral on social media.

Most netizens criticised that they were non-civic minded and even Kelantan Road Transport Department (RTD) said they will further investigate on the littering case.

According to Bernama, road users found dumping garbage from vehicles can be fined up to RM2,000 or jailed for a maximum of six months.

Her act violates Rule 52 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 and the perpetrator can be prosecuted under Section 119 (2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dumping garbage from a motor vehicle.

But the family broke the silence and explaining their act of littering was instructed by a traditional healer. They told the Facebook page, Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis that they were returned from Kuala Krai in southern-central Kelantan after seeing a traditional healer, who told them to throw the ‘saka’ into the river.

The ‘Saka’ will have to flow in the river. Some of you might ask, What is ‘saka’? Well, it is a kind of djinn or syaitan i.e. supernatural being that one befriends and sort of has a bond with.
