Lately, we have seen some people selling pickled fruit or mangoes at the side of the road. Some people do purchase them and some people just ignore them. However, on Facebook, netizens was angry at Taiping Police Department when they issued summons to the seller!
The story started when Taiping IPD Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD) conducted Street Hawker Ops. The results of operated ops, 4 pieces of Pol 257 summons has been issued on 10 A (1) Selling Goods / Brochure / Lottery after being advised several times before. The police said that act of doing business at the signal light is one of the things that harm the seller and the traffic users. Police also advised doing business on the side of a free road by using a canopy.
However, this caused the netizen to get angry as they feel that the action is very unfair. Since we are in a pandemic, a lot of people lose their job and couldn’t afford to pay bills or rent that resort to them selling goods on the road.
This caused a debate in the comments section because some people do agree with the action but some do not!

I understand the seller since the pandemic really causes a lot of people to lose their job. As long as they follow the safety protocol, they are no harm.
