A netizen, known as Sabi was alleged sexually harassed by a policeman while going through a roadblock in Jalan Duta, KL on Feb 13.

She said she forgot to bring along the physical copy of documents from employer and MITI. However, she did show the police officer her online copy of the documents. She was then told to pull over so that they could run a check, as she explained that she had forgotten to bring her driving license too.

When one of the officers went to tent to conduct the check on her IC, the other police officer came close to her window and said,” Why are you dressed so sexily? Did you not wear a bra?”

Feeling embarrassed she quickly cover her breast and told the officer she really wanted to go home. The police officer then said,” “Seriously, you’re not wearing a bra? Show it to me. Lift up your blouse. If you show me, I won’t issue you a summon.”

And of course she did not agree to the officer’s demands, and had instead told him, “just issue me a summon”. She said,” it’s OK even had to pay RM1,000.”

Following that, the officer also insisted to exchange contact with her despite her telling him she was uncomfortable with that. He gave her his phone and ask her to missed call him on the spot.

At the point of tweeting she said she tried calling the hotline for integrity report but attempts failed as no one picking up the call.

Sabi told FMT, “I was not only sexually harassed, but forced to give him my number. I was threatened with a fine if I did not comply. What an abuse of power. I feel disgusted that women are seen as objects and we as the rakyat (citizen) should feel protected. Instead, we are abused like this.”
