We always seen westerners travel around the world using their mini campervan and somehow, we also want to have such cool vehicle.
This Malaysian decided to make his dream a reality when he bought an old van used in night market and transform it into a glamorous mini campervan! He share his journey on how he did that in a Facebook post which has amassed over 6.7K likes and 12K shares as many has gotten inspired by him!
This is he did it. He bought the van from Selangor and drove it back to the North.
His first step in transforming that green van was to install the insulation foam in the van.
For the floor, he uses plywood board.
Then, he installed the vinyl stickers to make it look neat.
He DIY the bed frame with 3×3 size. Once the DIY pull-out bed is ready, it can be pull into a 6×3 so he can place the seat in the middle.
Under the bed, he creates one drawer and one sliding wood for the the stove.
Next, he installed the ceiling and wall pallet. This van look so much better now!
Then, he install the solar panel on the portable power generator.
For the door trim, he cut some plywood and wrap the door trim with new fabric.
He also did DIY cabinet for the fan.
After all the hard work, this is how it looks once he put the decoration in the van! It looks like one of the campervan you see on Pinterest!
He applies minimal and rustic concepts as this theme is suitable for small van.

As he changed into the warm colour, it feels more cozy.
He also installed a bracket projector which only costs him RM4 to DIY it. It can be removed and installed on the ceiling.

He also share one of the horror experience when the foreman forgot to screw the nut properly. It caused the front tire got detached while he was driving it. There’s a little dent on the lower van’s body but thank God, he was fine.
He uses portable power generator to accommodate the use of electronic charging devices and projectors. It can be recharged through solar panels.

At the end of his post, he did a little throwback to when he first start travelling but back then he only uses a Kancil! He named it as CamperKancil.
