To be pregnant for nine month is not easy, to deliver a baby by surgery is another terrifying thing.  But what this parents went through is beyond any horror movie you’ve seen!

They were face with horrible news that their newborn has accidently swapped with another baby while she was treated with jaundice. This mother took to Facebook to share her terrifying experience dealing with finding out that her precious daughter is out there with someone else. Her post has amassed over 2.5K likes and 3.1K share as many can’t comprehend how such mistake could happen!

Here’s her original post;

” Thank God on 12/2/2021/1016pm / Boy /3.1kg I gave birth to this little boy by surgery.

15/2 / 2021 – Mommy discharged from hospital but baby has to stay in nursery because of jaundice.

16/2/2021 (Tuesday) – Nursery call me to come and see the baby because the baby is fine from jaundice and ask the mother to come to see the breastfeeding method. At the same time I can see the baby but the baby can’t come home yet because they want to monitor her for another night. Maybe tomorrow she can be discharged because the baby is not sitting under the lights anymore. (So I hopes tomorrow I can bring home the baby).

17/2/2021 (11.30 am) – I call nursery for confirmation but a male Indian Doctor told me that the baby cannot be discharged today because her lost her weight so they have to monitor her for another day.

17/2/2021 (12.30 pm) – My husband calls for confirmation again and asks for baby to be brought home because the baby is fine from jaundice and doesn’t need to sit under the lights anymore (but we still need to wait until the baby’s weight is okay).

17/2/2021 (3.45 pm) – Call again to ask about the condition of the baby. This time a female Chinese doctor explain the same thing and (before that I requested to come to breastfeed the baby) and doctor suggest to come to the hospital at 5.30 pm.

5.30 pm – Went straight to the nursery, asked the nurse and we were immediately brought to the baby cot baby, and I immediately told the nurse that was not my child. The nurse asked me to check the mother’s name on the cot (it is my name) but as I checked the tag on the baby’s feet, it was another mother’s name. I was asked to wait for a while (maybe they went looking for the right baby), after about 15-20 minutes, I asked the nurse again. The nurse told me to call my husband they will explain later. (My emotion was unbearable at that time).

In that room they immediately explained and apologized because the baby was discharged that noon and was taken wrongly by others. They admitted their negligence and they have taken immediate action to detect where is my baby and directly contact that mother and they rushed to the location to get my baby back. (Thank God they can detect her).

17/2 8.15 pm –  My baby was brought back to nursery and she was weighed right in front of me and my husband. Turns out that my baby’s weight is different from what the doctor has  described while on the call means that the report was wrong and changed. The underweight baby is the other baby, not mine.

(Means that when I call the hospital at 3.40pm, my baby is not in the nursery anymore) Luckily I had an instinct to come at that evening or else I don’t know how long my baby has been out with someone else.

Everything is settle at around 10pm and I can bring the baby home. With the pain from cesarean pain, had to wait from 5.30 until 10 pm (only God knows how I felt). Hopefully this does not happen to anyone else too.”
