Following that Aprilia, who suffered from hypospadia or abnormalities in the reproductive organs has underwent surgery to fix his genital part.

Upon that, Tondano State Court has allowed Aprilia Santini Manganang to change his name to Aprilio Perkasa Manganang.

Indonesian court also has approved her application to change gender in official registration following a rare congenital condition (condition or disease during childbirth).

Aprilio was born as a man, but suffered from hypospadia or abnormalities in the reproductive organs. And due to limited medical equipment at the time, he was identified as possessing a female genitalia based on physical characteristics when he was a child.

Family financial issue was also the reason why he did not undergo further examination until the female gender was recorded on his birth certificate and identity card.
