Lee Zii Jia, A New Star Is Born! Achieve Glory With The Three-set Thriller In All-England

Ranked on World No.10 on Men’s Single category, Lee Zii Jia has made all Malaysia proud with his winning in the All England last night. This Kedah born, sealed his victory defeating Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in a splendid 30-29,20-22,21-9.

At the competition that took place at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Lee Zii Jia put on an energetic performance when he sealed victory in just over an hour.

This victory is considered his sweet revenged as this is not the first time they been in the same game, previously he was crushed by the 2017 world champion in 15-21,4-21. Beating the Danish player in just over an hour, this is something that he must be proud of.

With this triumph, it has ended Malaysia’s three -year wait to see the national player win the All England.

The last time a Malaysia player conquered Birmingham was through national legend, Datuk Lee Chong Wei who won the All England in the 2017 edition.

Someone on Twitter pointed out a previous interview of Lee Zii Jia for Tokyo 2021 Olympics on Olympic Channel. In this interview, he said he as pressured when people are comparing him to Datuk Lee Chong Wei to the point people started blaming him when he didn’t win.
