Receiving ” Bank” SMS With Message- Your Account Has Been Suspended? PLEASE Do Not Click on The Bank Link!

Lately, we always read news about SMS scams mimicking the bank, have you ever receive one? If you are receiving one, please DO NOT click into the bank link given!

One netizen took Facebook to share that she received a SMS from CIMB Bank on Sunday evening. The shocking message read, ” Your account has been suspended”. She was requested to log on to a link given to verify within 24hours to avoid service interruption.

However, the netizen felt something was not right as on the afternoon she did a few transactions with her CIMB account, and she did not encounter problem to log in the account.

▼  After she did a search online, she realised the CIMB website given in the SMS and the actual website is slightly different.

▼ The CIMB official site suppose to be www.cimbbank.com.my

▼ The netizen then screenshot the SMS received to check with the customer service of CIMB bank. And the bank clarified the SMS send was not authorised from the bank.

After reading the post, a lot of netizens also sharing their experience receiving the same SMS before.

▼ ” I received it too, but the fact is i don’t have a CIMB bank, how? hahaha”

▼” Me too, but i only have public bank”

▼” I received it too, but the fact is i didn’t do transaction with CIMB. Thus, i think it’s a scam”

▼Some tagging family and friends to remind them not to click on the bank link if come across this kind of scam SMS.

The netizen also urged everyone not to click on any link given in a suspicious SMS, contact the bank if you have any doubt.
