A netizen from Taiwan took social media to share his workplace experience. His company do have an old timer, spend most of the time doing nothing but still criticising some fresh graduate who worked hard for the company. However, the fresh grad also not someone easy to deal with!

Me worked in this company for 2 years and in total i had 4 years of working experience. It’s my first time came across this kind of incident.
Me working as supportive staff, i do not need to head out meeting clients. Our company worked on project basis, 3 in a team. Basically i don’t need to work over time too.
Let’s talk about the lazy old-timer, he reached office before 9am every morning. He will continue to sleep in the office until 10.30am then had his breakfast until 11am ++, start chit chatting with colleague until 12noon. Then enjoying his lunch, he took a nap after lunch until around 3pm then only started to work, chit-chat and surfing internet until 7pm and then off work.
Work load is not that heavy, not to the extend boss pushing for deadline. But he always said he was busy. Especially when boss wanted to arrange some other work but he always claimed he was swamped, but in fact he got nothing to do.
His favourite things to do is to chit chat with colleague, seeing other colleague not busy with work. He will teased them,” You are so free, not like me so many cases in hand.”
Lately we have a new colleague who is a fresh graduate, working hard, efficient, never even use mobile phone when he worked. We all knew his dream is to work in a public equity firm. To pursue his dream he will need to sit for some exam. But he only start do revision after work.
The incident happened on one day afternoon around 3pm, the fresh grad quickly finished his work and start do revision on his entry exam. The old-timer then teased him,” Ai yo, you are so free! so, just get paid for doing nothing?”
Probably fresh grad for in those day will just kept quiet not offending the old timer. But not this fresh grad as he replied ,” Old timer is always old timer. After working 5, 6 years in the company. Pay is even lower than a fresh grad like me. Other than teasing workmates here, no girl friend, no car, no property and no well-built body. Not working hard and doesn’t do extra to improvise your skills. The only skill you have is to act busy here. What a people with no contribution.”
The moment the fresh grad answered him back, then he started to defend himself by telling his work experience, his contribution towards the company like he did a great job. At the end of his conversation, he even cried saying the fresh grad trying to corner him.
The boss then came forward to mediate, in short asking the old timer don’t messed up with those fresh grad. Also told fresh grad not to bother about the old-timer.

This clearly shown youngster nowadays are so different from us. They are bold, in terms of expressing themselves and fearless to chase for what they want. Thinking about myself, those days when the old-timer sounded at us, we don’t dare to say anything. Sometimes even admitted our fault, even it’s not.
