「Noted. 」is a very common reply from employee to the bosses. In the case, when bosses sending across information or a task in the chat group. Employee will normally reply 「Noted.」Not awkward but yet polite reply. But sometimes it’s probably not the best reply!

Lately, a post regarding a world class Trainer/ speaker’s statement on the reply 「Noted.」 went viral. The post garnered 40k shares just within 2 days!

The post read:

STOP saying ” NOTED” in your meetings & emails.

The other people in the meeting &email, DO NOT need you to just ‘take note’ or write notes.

They want you to speak your mind. They need value-adding ideas, options. They need assurance of action.

“NOTED” doesn’t mean you commit to get things done.

Replace “Noted” with genuine reactions:

“Sounds like a plan”

“I like that”

“I support that”

“I suggest….”

“My alternative idea is…”

OR assuring statements:

“Sure”

“I got this”

“Consider it done”

“On it”

Start doing that now!
