Due to the surge of Covid-19 cases, Malaysia is currently implementing lockdown in an action to curb the outbreak of the deadly virus. Those who need to travel inter-state or inter-district for work purposes are required to get MITI approval for the checks in any roadblock! But in the case, you encounter the following scenario, please stay calm!
Recently, a post in Facebook was widely discussed where a netizen, Jessica shared her experience, and urged everyone that : MySejahtera App can’t be use to scan the QR code in MITI’s letter!

This is just to share my experience with the Police officer in the roadblock.
MySejahtera app can’t be used to scan MITI’s QR code. So, don’t fall into the trap!
MySejahtera and MITI are completely 2 different things and non-related~
I have attached 2 photos. One of it is the smart police officer scanned the QR code using MySejahtera app, another one is just normal scanning of the QR code.
I’m in the midst to work and was asked to stop aside.

Police officer ：Pergi Mana？（Where are you going?）
Me ：Kerja logistic hantar barang.（I’m working in logistic sector , need to get things delivered）handed the letter to Mr. police officer.
Police officer：IC, Lisen. Buka kereta, buka belakang.（IC, License, open the car boot please.）
I just followed their instruction. Because i got the approval. Logistic company is serving the people even during the pandemic ( essential services) . After the check they gave me back the letter.

Police officer：You tau hari ini hari apa? You pakai MITI. Surat lama ke surat palsu? Saya boleh saman you, you tau tak?（Do you know what day is it? You are using the MITI approval. Is it the previous approval letter or a fake letter? Do you know i can summon you?）
I asked them to look at the date. I’m with company letter and MITI approval, how can i forged the documents? ( I was thinking probably they wanted some under table money.)

He used my smart phone to scan and showed me that the MITI’s QR code written ” Not Valid”.
Then i replied them: ” Boss, You wake up already? Why are you scanning MITI’s QR code with MySejahtera App?” ( I’m not so stupid ok!)
The police officer was dumbfounded, never thought i will be that alert probably. He gave me back my IC and License.
Me : Tadi you cakap nak saman saya surat Miti palsu kan? Boss, you boleh saman
sekarang.( Just now you said want to summon me for forging the MITI approval right? So you can summon me now.)
Police officer: Tak da apa. You sudah boleh jalan. Hati-hati ya. ( It’s ok, you may go now. Take care ya.)
▼ Netizen : Only MOT letter? or MOT with MITI approval?
Jessica : The one with QR Code to scan is only for PKP 3.0( the current MCO)
▼ Netizen : Scan with what then?
Jessica : Normal QR scan or weChat scanning. But definitely not MySejahtera.
One netizen also added,” QR code scanner, some can be done with smart phone’s camera”
