Most of us will pump petrol and pay with the credit card. It’s pretty simple and easy, you will just need to slot in your credit card, once it’s approved then lifted up the pump and started to fuel. As the pump do have sensor, so it will stop automatically once your oil tank is full. BUT, not everytime~

Yesterday, a Malaysian man, Jie took social media to share his experience pumping petrol. Something out of expectation happened and ended up he paid close to RM160 to fuel his car ..Sob:(

His post read:

It’s the first time in my life using RON97 to wash the Petrol station floor for them.

On Jun 16, a fine morning, when i was ready to go out. I realised i’m running out of petrol. I drove to the nearest petrol station. Get a bay and ready to pump the petrol. Everything went as usual. I slotted in my credit card and standing there to wait for the sensor to notify me when it’s done.

It took longer than usual. I was thinking why the pump never stop??

Suddenly, i saw the light pink RON97 was flowing out to the floor. I was thinking ” Shit! The pump sensor didn’t work” I ran as fast as possible to the counter to get the staff to stop the pump immediately.

5 minutes later, one of the staff came to check the pump nozzle. But they found the pump nozzle worked well. So i’m the unlucky one.

Moral of the story: Please be extra carefully when you are fuelling next time or else when your pump sensor gone haywire and doesn’t stop then you will be the unlucky fellow like me.

PS: I ended up spend RM157.31 for the petrol.

Normally to fully fuel my car i spend around RM70++, But this time round i spend double. Recalled the moment, it’s like a scene in the movie and i’m the male lead.

Lucky no one was smoking around me. Or else, i won’t be around anymore. Just recorded this moment of my life.

The end~

▼  What an unforgettable experience! Next time must really take note.

▼ Actually he is not the only one with an experience like this. But one netizen said the petrol station did compensate and pay her for the first time. The second time she wanted to collect at the counter but the petrol station staff asked her to get titbits worth RM5 instead.

▼ One said,” I used to pump only half with balance. They asked me to fill in a oil containers” But another netizen suggested that,” You can get your balance back in the counter”

▼ The staff in the petrol station told me about the red button, in the case of any emergency cases to stop fuelling, you can just press the red button.

▼ Some netizens shared that there is a “Force stop” red button in the centre of the machine where you can press to stop the pump nozzle immediately.

▼ One said, problem might be he didn’t insert the petrol pump into the oil tank properly. Thus, the sensor didn’t  work and ended up never stop.

▼ A netizen who worked 15 years in the petrol station commented,” You can either press on the red button or release the trigger on pump nozzle. A lot of people will pull the trigger on the pump nozzle on the higher speed to pump petrol. But sometimes it will never stop. Ever since that, i don’t lock it under the fastest speed again. And some customer pulled the trigger on pump nozzle and then they walk off maybe to washroom. Actually it’s quite dangerous too. Normally we will just stop it when we saw it. Or some even forgot to put the pump nozzle back and just drove off. The hose was broken on the spot.”

Thus, please be extra careful when you are fueling your vehicle! Nothing is more important then your own safety.
