Working in city like Kuala Lumpur, most are saying even with a monthly income of RM3000, you are living under pressure, only if nothing goes out of budget or emergency. You are safe for that particular month and not even to mention about saving.

But a post from a anonymous netizen in “UTAR Confessions” does have his very own opinion on the above matter. He was thinking it’s not about the monthly income but more to a personal problem if you are not able to save. His sharing on his financial point of view of himself earning RM2,500 and save RM500 monthly sparked backlash.

The post read:

Most people are saying it’s insufficient with monthly income of RM3000 in Klang Valley area, but i’m with income of less than RM2500, i have more than enough and i managed to save some money every month. So, is it something wrong with your financial planning?

Let me share with you my monthly expenses!

Ok lah! To be very honest, my parents did sponsor me a little. But i do control my spending to ensure i can save at least RM500 a month.

My parents bought me one unit of condominium in Bukit Damansara. Of course, the car i’m driving now is fully paid. So i do not need to worry about the rental or car loan.

While for the entertainment, i save quite a lot of money too. As my Netflix, YouTube Premium, Astro, VPN, iTunes, Spotify.. are packages that i shared with my family, so i don’t need to pay a single cents.

After deducted the rest, including the condo management fees, WiFi, Phone bills, water and electricity bill, expenses for my pet, expenses to wash my car. I’m left with RM1500.

Expenses for my meal is normally less than RM1000, thus i can save at least RM500~

OK lah~ Actually my parents is paying for my credit card bills. So, all my grocery shopping, clothing, spa, dental scaling and some bills for my impulsive buy, i normally pay with my credit card so not me the one who are paying.

Moreover now is MCO, i save even more. Because i can’t go out for fun, no drinking, BBQ, GYM, massage, watch movie. Most i can do is playing golf, i normally go to the golf club where my dad is a VIP, i do not need to pay. I can also sauna in the golf club for free.

Most importantly is to take care of my own health, drink more water, avoid falling sick so i don’t need to spend money to see doctor.
