Spending a few thousand ringgit for the latest iPhone for the powerful camera, responsive display, fastest chip and waterproof function. So, you don’t have to worry about unlucky spills and splashes. Of course, even the best waterproof phones are not completely immune to water damage.

Recently, an iPhone 13 Pro Max user brought his phone to a water theme park. He swim with the phone and after that the phone is unable to turn on anymore! He was puzzled : Isn’t it waterproof?

The comments are hilarious, mostly poking fun on post author!

Check them out:

▼Maybe water in Sunway is too shallow, don’t swim in Sunway anymore. You should try to dive in Langkawi / Pulau Perhentian.

▼ Maybe you swim too fast and the phone is choked.

▼ You didn’t perform CPR on time!

▼ Ahh.. You forget to turn on the waterproof setting. First go to Setting > Search Waterproof > Turn On.

The post author replied : I can’t find this function. (Oh no .. Kidding only .. no such function please!)

▼ Must be a fake iPhone. My iPhone is completely fine .. my fishes are watching youtube in the aquarium,  it’s perfectly good!  .. Since it’s a fake one.. sell to me at RM50!

▼ You should open it with a spanner. Maybe can dry it in microwave first.

▼ It’s waterproof but doesn’t mean can swim~

▼ Waterproof but they never mention what kind of water.. saliva- proof?! or maybe salt water not fresh water?! Maybe not the water in Sunway.

▼ My iPhone 12 dropped into the water bucket lucky it survive!

▼ If can swim with iPhone, i will take picture of Shark for you in the ocean.

▼ If iPhone 13 is waterproof and iPhone 14 should be fire-proof.

▼ It’s definitely not the user problem, must be Apple’s problem : ” Why selling at such a high price, you make people think the phone is whatever-proof!” ” Apple’s fault never test in Sunway’s water.”

▼ iPhone 13 Pro Max and some other models are splash, water, and dust resistant and were tested under controlled laboratory conditions. These models have a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes)

Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Liquid damage is not covered under warranty.

▼ 1. Waterproof give you the convenient as rain or spills don’t damage your phone.

2. Apple never advertised that you can swim with it’s phone.

3. The phone come with waterproof function doesn’t mean it’s 100%. When the o-ring or casing aged, the functionality might drop.

4. Of course the waterproof function is important but  user’s judgement is equally important. Just like you vaccinated doesn’t mean you won’t be Covid positive.
