Grab is one of the most popular e-hailing service in Malaysia. It is more popular as it’s wallet-friendly and convenient. However, recently Malaysian complaining on the surge of Grab fares.
A Malaysian man took social media to share his experience on e-hailing service during the peak hour, on the same timing to a same destination. He found 2 e-hailing service providers with RM15 difference in fare?!

- AirAsia Ride：RM27.00
- Grab Car：RM42.30
At last, i chose AirAsia Ride. I’m quite lucky as i managed to get a driver.

If you are observative then you will find the battery level is different. This is because my wife use Grab to look for driver but the charges is a bit high. Then i’m trying with AirAsia Ride.

▼ AirAsia e-hailing platform is an useful app..a lot of Grab drivers also moving to AirAsia Ride.
▼ But also netizen with different voices : ” I had been waiting for an hour for the ( AirAsia Ride) driver. When the driver almost reach he cancelled my trip. End up i had to go home with grab.”, ” Hard to get driver for AA”,” Not all the time AirAsia Ride is cheaper, because it’s based on demand and supply.”
▼ Now a lot of people back to the normal taxi..
▼ It’s not that expensive actually as the timing is peak hour. If you become the driver then you will know it’s hard-earned money.
▼ For this kind of price, if i’m AirAsia Ride driver i will not work on peak hours. Looking at the timing and location. You will at least need 40-50 mins for the trip, deduct commission ( AirAsia -15%, GrabCar – 20%/25%) ** Most drivers from AirAsia Ride are those blacklisted from Grab. AirAsia Ride driver’s rating won’t get affected if you cancel the booking but Grab driver can’t simply cancelled booking or else their account will be affected.
As a conclusion :
Charges is your concern – you can choose AirAsia Ride/ In Drive/ MyCar
Safety & easy to get a driver is your concern – you can choose GrabCar
Boost Malaysia economy is your priority – you can choose “Meter Taxi”
