Many people experienced bank savings been transferred without their knowledge, losing thousand of ringgit or even more! Some were saying: Most of the victim are Android user. So, does it means it’s more risky to use an Android phone?

A netizen who expertised in 3C electronic sector took social media to share why is it harder to hack into iPhone. Post author listed out 3 main reasons!

The post read:

Why you seldom heard iPhone user been hacked?

Actually it’s possible to hack an iPhone too. But the hacker will need spend more time to develop an App to run on iOS platform.

Reason ① :Complexity of the mobile operating system

iPhone will reject the App which is not downloaded from the App Store. Even you downloaded  app from unknown resources, the user will need to go to General > Device Management to “trust “the app only the app will be running in the phone.

▼ Step 1:Settings ▶ General

▼ Step 2:General ▶ Device Management

▼ Step 3:Select the App.

▼ Step 4:Then click on ” Trust” to grant permission to run the app.

However, the time for the App to run in the mobile OS maybe quite short, because in few days or probably few weeks time once iOS updated. You will not be able to use the app. So the hacker may need to keep re-developing new App. While, for Android it’s a one-off job for them, not that much of work.

For Android, the hacker can send you APK via WhatsApp and bluetooth for downloading purposes. For iOS you will not be able to do that.

Reason ② :Income level

In general, iPhone user tend to have higher income level comparing with Android user. As you can get an Android phone with few hundred ringgit but not iPhone. The hacker will normally targeting those that ” out for small advantages”. Gain their trust and hack into the victim’s bank account. Therefore those with higher income level is with lower risk.

Other than that will be the complexity of the Mobile operating system( OS) : iOS is more complicated as per explained in Reason ①, only once you trust the 3rd party ( unknown developer) the operating system will be allowing you to run the app to reduce risk been hacked. Unless it’s necessary or else please do not ” Trust” any App that is not in iOS App store.

Reason ③ :Security system of Safari

Some scammer will be using the trick getting personal info via member registration, online payment. However, most of the insecure link will not be workable in Safari. But you will be able to log in via Google Chrome, Opera, Messenger and so on. So, if you are doing a search with Safari, it will help you to sensor the insecure site.

I hope i answered some of the doubt in you, why most of the victim are Android user. Hence, complexity in your operating system( OS) is a key factor.  The more complicated the OS the more complicated to develop the programme and likewise.

I urged everyone to do transaction in the trusted platform.

▼ Between iOS user can also disable the function ” Allow apps to request to track”

Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Tracking -> Ask Apps to Request to Track then disable it.

▼ Are you trying to say Android user not that knowledgeable. Actually the main reason is iOS not that flexible hence more security level is higher. Likewise, those like to use Android like the flexibility, so in the same time risk is higher.

▼ One said :  So, Android user poorer?!

But a netizen defending the post author : He never said Android user poorer. But only said the price of Android started from few hundred ringgit. In fact, you really can’t get iPhone for this amount of money. And can’t deny iOS updating their system regularly. That’s make hacker targeting Android user.

▼ But some iPhone user also experienced the same: ” I just saw an iPhone been hacked”, ” I have a few friends that use iPhone also been hacked”, “I experienced it 2 years ago, i’m an iPhone user and work in mobile phone sector. Actually, risk to hack into mobile OS it’s the same for Android and iOS. Through the data in your App you downloaded and your e-mail the hacker will be able to analyse your data. I saw one hacker that spend 10s to read the data, if your bank binding to your e-mail then chances your bank get hacked is even higher.

▼ I was been hacked when i used iPhone. But not when i’m using Android. So, personally i think iPhone or Android is the same ~
