Prices of basic items in the country are seeing a hike between 50% and 60% since June following the implementation of the new RM1,500 minimum wage. Unfortunately, most of us do not have increment in our pay and the price hike is burdening us.
A Malaysian father took social media to share his thought, he as a breadwinner of the family need to take care of all the family expenses. But the recent inflation burdening him. As RM100 can only last for 3-4 days.

I asked her to leave the left over food from lunch, so i can have it at night and she do not need to cook anymore. Just to save money. Now RM100 can only get chicken, fish and vegetables which can only last for 3-4 days .
I took out another RM100.. looking at prawn and squid. But it costing RM35 -RM40 per kg, i don’t dare to buy any of them! End up, only getting some chicken and fish. I will still need the rest of the money for sundries.

Only on my payday i will buy some meat, moreover it’s frozen meat. The price will be at least RM18 per kg.. One month down the road, only raw ingredient will be close to RM1000 and additional RM300-RM500 for sundries.
