Not long ago, a young mother took social media to share her real-life experience and her post soon became a subject heated controversy. Her husband with his renewed passport wanted to go abroad but he was denied boarding at airport due to the INVALID passport!

Now the same incident happened again! A lady from JB took social media to share her infuriation as her friend passport, ( she been flying abroad with the same passport before) been told invalid due to unknown reason!

The post read:

Now i wanted to tell you a story of ” Malaysia Boleh!”

A passport- not expired, no outstanding payment for PTPTN. Most importantly, it’s not just renewed, no issue when she flew to Thailand before MCO! So, no particular reason but : 「Your passport is Invalid !」

Please Be Alert!

If you wanted to go oversea, please make sure your passport is valid. Or else you will be turned away, boarding is denied and ruined your vacation!

We are travelling to Bangkok, Thailand. We departed from Senai Airport, Johor. After checked-in all the baggage. We were on the queue for customs-check. But my friend was told she had an invalid passport and was asked to the customs office!

After all the checking and questioning. We had no clue what went wrong. The officer told us they had no idea why the passport is invalid too. In the nutshell, she been denied for boarding due to the invalid passport. Which means, the passport she hold is an useless passport. Our vacation plan was ruined. We had been busy for nothing!

So, we urged everyone to check the validity of your passport before flying. P/S, good luck to you! Hopefully you don’t stuck in the same situation like us. No matter who you are, who so ever daughter or son. Sometimes, you just don’t know whether you are lucky or not!

PS: My friend is not in the blacklisted list

▼ Netizen V: I’m the one that shared online, my husband was denied boarding. We went Immigration office twice.

Post author: Then? what is going on? we went immigration checked on the status and my friend still had no clue what was going on. Then they re-do a new passport for her. Speechless!

Netizen V: Same here! My husband went on Monday. They photocopied and told him checked with KL. Informed us to go over on Wednesday and they gave us a new passport.

▼ For those in JB, the best way to check the validity will be going on a trip to Singapore

▼ Some netizen are concerned: How to check on passport validity?? ( seems like some people also encountered the same issue: denied boarding)

▼ One netizen was sharing a link to check on the validity.

But post author commenting: If you manage to check then ok. We tried to check too but we are not blacklisted.

▼ Firstly login to the Malaysia Immigration official website【Click here】Click “Setuju”( Agreed). Then enter your passport information then click “Carian”( Search)

▼ “Permohonan Bermasalah”( Problematic application) means passport was blacklisted.

▼ If the following page appeared then the passport is not blacklisted.

▼ Netizen : The new passport with chip can’t be placed together with smartphone or any 3C gadgets as the chip will likely be damaged.

Netizen: Finally someone looking at the things from different angle! Not necessary the Immigration’s fault. Sometimes passport chip failed to be read due to the way you keeping your passport.
