Road trip to Krabi, Thailand – 3D2N
Budget below RM1000 ( Hotel, meals, fuel, insurance, not including boat ride)
The documents needed:
- passport
- car grant
- car insurance to enter Thailand
- Travel insurance ( not necessary)
① Travel from Penang to Bukit Kayu Hitam（1.5 hours）
② Entering Thailand border and queue for passport verification, you will need to show MySejahtera to the immigration officer.
③ If you are on the road trip and you are the driver. You will need to bring along ( Car grant, car insurance, passport) to the border for entering and exiting the country.
Bukit Kayu Hitam – Krabi (around 5 hours drive）
The first day when we arrived at Krabi, we checked into Dusitd2 Aonang beachside hotel. We staying in a local beach resort, with a very reasonable price. Also, nearby with a lot of halal certified restaurants.
On the second day, we went for breakfast in hotel. Then we rent a boat for island hopping near to Krabi, from 8am to 12 noon. It’s a private chartered boat so more costly, about RM800 for 4 person.

Then we went to Krabi night market, enjoyed all the Thailand local delicacies. And checked out the stalls selling clothes and souvenirs with very reasonable price!
On the third day, we went for breakfast then left the hotel. Next, going to Ao Nang beachside to get some souvenirs and the famous restaurant ” Kai Tod Decha” for lunch. Then going to Customs for the procedure to exit the country and back to Malaysia.
Budget：
- Dusitd2 Aonang Beachside hotel（2 nights）including breakfast – RM300+
- Fuel（throughout the journey）- RM200+

- The package we bought is RM25 / pax，unlimited internet plan.
If i deducted the cost for this tourist spot RM800. The travel expenses for this journey is less than RM1000. It’s cheaper than taking a flight. The journey for 2 person is just RM750, if including chartered a boat cost per person will be RM200. 2 person for RM400. Therefore, the 2 of us spend RM1,150.
