A Malaysian iPhone user took social media to share his experience where his phone was stolen when he dine-in a restaurant. Ended up, through ‘Find My iPhone’ feature he managed to get back his phone.

I can’t help but to praise on the feature of “Find My iPhone”.
The story begin with … i went to a cafe with my family for some dessert. In between, i went to washroom then back to our table to continue to eat. In less than 5 mins, i realised my phone was left in the washroom. Immediately, i went back to the washroom to look for my phone. But unfortunately the phone is gone.
Not much people in the cafe during that time. I found a table with 3 Chinese went off even food half-way eating. I turned on the lost mode immediately to locate my phone.
At that moment, my iPhone was turning off. The sim card was removed too. But still every 10 mins will have an updated location. Me and my friends went to police station to lodge a report.
It was close to 12 midnight. I managed to locate the phone. 5 Policemen went with us, we didn’t know where exactly the phone located. So we need to ring the doorbell 1 by 1. We tried a few houses and they said they never took my phone. The policemen ended the operation.
When i was home, something struck my mind. I think i should checked my dash cam as not much car during the time we visited the cafe. I recorded down the vehicle and continued to use Find My Phone for the latest location to look for the similar vehicle.
Then i went to ring the door bell again. A 30-year-old lady came to answer the doorbell. We were asking her ：「 Did you accidentally took an iPhone when you dine-in a cafe?」30-year-old lady：「No！」Me：「I lodged a police report. If you are still denying, i will call the police and get them to come back.」
Then she claimed her husband took a phone outside the cafe. I asked them where is the sim card. But, she said when they took the phone it’s already without the sim card. Then i thought as long as i managed to get back then it’s ok. As i’m the one that are careless in the first place.
So, even though they removed the sim card. As long as i have another Apple device then i can used the network to share the location.

A: Just follow the instruction. First go to setting-> then accept terms & conditions then it will login to your account and will be able to detect your location.
▼ Other than Find my iPhone feature, Dash cam also played important part to locate the phone.
