Finally the pandemic is over and everyone is planning for a vacation abroad. Some of us will pick the Asia countries for a start, like Thailand , Taiwan, Korea and Japan.. But to plan for a free & easy trip you will need to spend some time & effort. But we are lucky as we have some netizen that don’t mind to share their itinerary with us!

【We went Tokyo, Kamakura, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara】

The fare given including:

  • Bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto

  • Charges for professional photographer for photoshoot in Kimono.

Day 1:1 Day trip in Karakuma

– Komachi-Dori street

– Hasedera

– Inamuragasaki Onsen Spa

– Kamakura Highschool station (famous scene in animation “Slam Dunk” )

– Enoshima

You can go to the Odakyu Tourist Service Center in Shinjuku Station to get the Enoshima• Karakuma travel pass (JPY 1640, approximately RM54). From Fujisawa station to Karakuma unlimted Enoden ( Enoshima Electric Railway) travel pass.

Enoden stop almost every tourist spots in Karakuma, it’s a worth to get travel pass!

After board on the Enoden, our first stop will be Komachi-Dori street near to Karakuma station for some street foods. Then travelled along the Enoden railways, we stopped station by station until we reached Tokyo.

Day 2 :1 Day trip in Disneyland 

Ticket:I bough the tickets in advance via Klook – RM287

Took hotel shuttle bus to Disneyland. You basically don’t need to prepare much, just download Disney Resort App and follow the guide given will do.

The App will show locations for each ride and also time needed for queueing. Before getting the tickets, you will need to check on the date as some Friday, the park will close at 6:30pm and with no fireworks performance.

Day 2 :Kyoto – Colours of nature in Arashiyama district

– Nishiki market

– Fushimi Inari Taisha

– Sagano Onsen Tenzan no Yu

You can take 8am Hikari 503 to Kyoto when you are in Tokyo station. Train fare – RM493 ( Reserved seat) We bought in advance in Klook.

If you have big luggage with you, you will need to inform Train station service centre so the crew will allocate you on a special seat. In the case, you never inform them. You may face penalty like fine or in the situation where you have no seat.

We planned to stay in Arashiyama for 2 hours, but we can’t resisted the good food. Ended up we spend more than 3 hours only we went to the next spot. Wagyu beef stick is a must to try in Nakamuraya Sohonten! Scrumptious!

It’s late when we reached Fushimi Inari Taisha. Probably it’s at night, full of the sense of mysterious!

Day 4:Kyoto(Photoshoot in Kimono)

Yasaka Shrine

– Ninenzaka

– Okazaki-jinja Shrine

– Hanamikoji Street

– Ning Ning Road

Reaching the shop we rent Kimono in the morning to dress up and make up. Met up with photographer at 10.30am in Yasaka Shrine, and took some pictures nearby.

The charges for Kimono rental – girl ( JPY 15,000, appr.RM496), boy ( JPY 5,000, appr. RM165). About 2 hours photoshoot ( JPY30,000, appr. RM992)

After the photoshoot, we carried on our sightseeing around the area and returned the Kimono before 6pm.

A day with experience in Kimono! We were in Kimono to tour around the tourist spots, have a meal and even visited a shrine in Kimono as we are back in Edo era.

Day 5:Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

– Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Shinsaibashi 

– Dotonbori

We were tired walking the past few days. Therefore, we woke up late on this day and took our own sweet time going to aquarium. Bought tickets in the counter ( JPY 2,7000, appr. RM89), quite cheap. We managed to see whale shark.

It’s 8 floors in total, overall it’s amazing! We stayed for around 3 hours ++. After that, we went somewhere nearby the aquarium, it’s said to be the tallest ferris wheel in Asia. Then night  time we went to Shinsaibashi for a walk and some food.

Day 6:Valentine’s day

– Kuromon Ichiba Market

– Kani Dōraku

– Kuroge Wagyu Yakiniku Ichi Shinsaibashi

– Shopping spots in Umeda

Well-planned foodie day. We started with appertizer in Kuromon Ichiba Market – Sea urchins, pufferfish and scallop.

Seafoods in Kuromon Ichiba Market is at the high side. Each and every portion starting from JPY2000-3000 ( appr. RM66-RM99). While for starter, we went to Kani Dōraku for snow crab. But for this restaurant you will need to make reservation in advance.

Main course will be the wagyu beef set meals ( 2 pax for JPY 16,000, appr. RM529) in Kuroge Wagyu Yakiniku Ichi Shinsaibashi. It’s wagyu beef, the most satisfied meal so far!

While dessert was crepe and fruits sandwich in Marutome the Juicery, Umeda.

Day 7:Nara

– Mentouan Udon ( Udon in a giant beancurd pocket)

– Nakatanidou

– Higashimuki Shopping Street

– Kasuga-taisha

A coldest day in whole journey, it’s snowing. We walked to to shop in Nara, うどん釜粹 Kamaiki to have a very springy udon.

At the end of the shopping streets you will see the most famous mochi shop, Nakatanidou. Then we walked over to Kasuga-taisha for praying. Along the way we see a lot of Sika deer.

Not much tourist spots in Nara, so a half-day tour will be enough. We went back to Osaka at night for hot spring retreat in Solaniwa Onsen, entrance fee JPY 1,980 ( appr. RM65). Besides, hot springs you can also enjoy other facilities in the premise. Solaniwa onsen have 6 different natural hot springs.

The air tickets cost us RM1,890. So, the fact is it’s not necessary you will get cheap ticket if you are buying air tickets early.

Things to take note before travelling:

  • You have to be fully vaccinated ( 3 vaccines)
  • Download MySOS and MySejahtera as airport crew may want to check.
  • Before travelling log on to Visit Japan【Click here】to fill in the necessary information, this will save your time when you entering Japan.
  • I will strongly suggest you to get personal/family travel insurance. As my luggage was damaged by the airline’s crew. I immediately submitted for claim when i touched down in Malaysia.

Tips:

  1. Download Google Map, so you won’t lost your way when you free & easy travelling in Japan. The map will show all the location of train stations, giving you direction how to walk to certain tourist spots and even costs of different transportation to certain location.
  2. Check weather report when you plan for your journey.
  3. You can pre-book some of the travel pass and entrance tickets via Klook.

Post author: I bought early of the year when AirAsia running 30% Off promotion. After that, never have air fare below RM2k.

▼ Netizen: Is it a must to have 3 vaccines to travel to Japan?

Post author: It’s ok when you have 2 vaccines as long as you are PCR negative 72 hours before departing. You can check online for further information.
