According to FMT, Petaling Jaya police chief Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the health ministry had lodged a police report at Damansara police station yesterday, claiming that the club had violated the movement control order by continuing to operate despite being ordered to be closed from Sunday.
On Saturday, the staff dormitory of the club was placed under an administrative enhanced MCO from Oct 12-25 after 23 workers tested positive for Covid-19 and a total of 597 employees were expected to undergo Covid-19 screening on Wednesday (Oct 14).
Some golfers can be seen at the golf course and some members are still in the club house when police arrived. The management was ordered to shut down the club house and golf course immediately, reported by China Press.
“The case is being investigated under Section 269 of the Penal Code and Section 22 (b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Act 1988 (Act 342),” he told reporters outside the golf club’s workers’ hostel today.
Looking at the surge of the Covid-19 cases, he urged public to follow Ministry of Health( MOH) order and strictly adhere to given SOP.
