Do you have a favourite teacher back in school or favourite lecturer while in university year? Teachers seem to look always happy and very motivated to share with us their knowledge no matter how tired or even if they are having health condition.
Recently, a woman on Facebook has shared a heart warming photo of his sick father still thinking about grading his student paper despite he literally on his deathbed. That post has amassed over 176K likes and 79K shares as many people were swayed by this teacher dedication until his last breath.
That original post wrote as,
“This is my dad Alejandro Navarro, the day before he passed away, worried about finalizing grades for progress reports. He knew he was going to the ER so he packed his laptop and charger so he could enter them.
Doctors were coming in to see him. They were running tests, they were telling him he needed to decide what he wanted in the event that his heart stopped: CPR and intubation or to go in peace. He’d answer their questions and resume with grades.
The last time I saw him was Monday and he spent the two hours I was at his house working. I wish I would have closed his laptop and enjoyed spending time with him.
Teachers put in so many extra hours, hours that many don’t realize. Even during a pandemic, even during a health crisis, teachers worry about completing their duties.
Thank your teachers. If you are married to one, help them set boundaries, if you are the daughter/son of one, don’t let them work once they’re home. Be kind to your teachers. ♥️
Teachers let’s not normalize working after hours, let’s not normalize staying at work late. You are replaceable at work. You are NOT replaceable at home. 💔
Dad, you will be greatly missed! I love you!
*Edited to Add: I didn’t realize this post would get so much attention but I did want to clarify, my father did not pass away from Covid or anything Covid related.”
It really breaks our heart seeing an old teacher still doing his work while his health is at stake.
