Malaysian Intern Gets RM500 Allowance When Tested Positive! Comment: So nice! I Get Unpaid MC!

When you are infected with Covid-19, what’s the treatment from your company? Some people will still need to work from home (WFH) while some will be asked to take MC so they can rest until quarantine period is over.

But this youngster who is still in an intern in a company was giving some much love, concern and care. Most importantly, the company issued someone who is just working as an intern RM500 allowances when she is infected!

Me the intern was infected with Covid-19 and my company make me moved to tears!

I was feverish, sore throat so i did a self-test. I’m not sure how i got infected. The next thing was informing my manager my condition, so the rest of my workmate who are my close contact can do the test too.

My MD ( Managing Director) then texted me, “Are you ok? Any symptoms? Do you need panadol & medicine for sore throat?” (because she knew i was alone doing my internship in KL and my hometown is pretty far). She also took initiative to ask her sister who is a doctor what should i do.

After my MD, my manager also texted me see if i need anything. I’m so touched!

What surprised me: Because i told her i will need to order food via food delivery app ( Because it’s a shared kitchen so i better not to cook in the kitchen). At night, i was informed that the management issued me a special allowance! Oh god, how can an intern like me got a treatment like this?!

My Manager also texted me whether i need the Lian Hua medicine? I’m really touched!

Although sometimes we will need to reply bosses’ messages after work. But after the incident, i think i will work even harder for the company. I just hoping no one else in the company will get infected~

I”m still feeling bad hopefully work progress won’t be affected by me. But they never blamed me and yet still issued me an allowance.

But the work still need to be follow up, or else we will be far behind the schedule. By Tuesday if i’m feeling better i will start to iron out the unfinished job on hand. Hopefully everyone is ok.
