Malaysia is a multiracial country, where Malays, Indians, Chinese and people of various other ethnicities live together in peace and harmony. But sometimes we hardly guess race of some Malaysian especially if you have a darker complexion.
Just like this netizen do.. He is a Chinese but he looks like Malay, thus he encountered some problem during the month of Ramadan. He always been questioned when having his lunch .. with no choice he will need to dine in with IC on the table!
According to 《China Press》, this Chinese boy is a pure Chinese not even mixed race! But genetically he is with darker complexion thus, he is always been mistakenly thought he is a Malay. People that he don’t know will normally speak Malay to him.
The boy’s sister told media outlet, that the brother encounters the same problem every year during the ramadan month. He will be questioned more than 10 over times when he dine in for lunch. Luckily so far he met people that will asked politely and never bump into one that scolded or shouted at him. 「He has no choice but to repeat the same answer all over again!」
Many years back, when the boy worked in a hawker centre, during one of the spot check of immigration department. He was handcuffed as officer thought he is a foreign worker without documents . The family were mad and scolded the officer.
「The family were mad and questioned the officer why handcuffed him without asking. The boy then showed them his IC only he was been released. Luckily his family member was nearby or else he might be captured and put in the jail.」
The sister said, among the 5 siblings only the brother always been mistakenly thought as a Malay.
