A Malaysian lady who is planning for a pregnancy decided to go for a preconception check-up in a Hospital. She decided to go to a female gynae with a very good google reviews. However, the medical procedure caused so much discomfort, bleeding and she was diagnosed with a few women’s disease, which include Endometriosis that need to undergo surgery immediately.

It’s a lengthy post and definitely a horrible lifetime experience. The incident happened before i had a kid. I still had a nightmare sometimes even it’s been over. I was awake due to the nightmare. So, i checked on the doctor’s google review again, then only i realised i’m not the only victim. I think i should penned it down to warn others.
The incident happened after i tied the knot with my husband. I heard it’s better to go for preconception check-up if you are planning for a pregnancy. Thus, i went to google for the female gynae which i felt more comfortable as it’s my first time doing this kind of check-up.
This female doctor with google review of 5 stars. Thus, i chose her but it’s my most regretted decision. The first time of my appointment i did a pap smear. It was painful and when she checked my private part and told me my vaginal isn’t healthy and my cervix swollen.
I was disheartened. After that, she continued with ultrasound and diagnosed me with a few more women’s disease, which include Endometriosis and Fibroid cysts. I don’t go into details but i’m diagnosed with about 7-8 women’s disease.
After the check-up, the nurse asked me to clean up my private part as they applied some ultrascan gel on me. When i got up from the bed, i realised the bed got some blood stain and when i wiped my private part with tissue, it’s with blood too.
This is my first time went to gynae so i never know the vaginal check can be this pain and caused bleeding. I went to her room after settled everything. She asked me whether i knew what is Endometriosis. She showed me some scary photos and told me how serious is it. She advised me to undergo surgery as soon as possible. No sexual intercourse with my husband, if i wanted a kid i must go for the surgery. Only after recovery i can start to plan for my pregnancy.
Of course, i’m sad as i like kids so much. The moment i stepped out from the hospital and saw my husband i cried. I called my family and they advised me to go for second opinion. Immediately on the next day i make another appointment .
When i told my parents they wanted to come all the way from hometown and they were sad for me and we cried. But i told them in the case i need to go for surgery only they come over. It was a horrible night for my family too as they knew i love kids.
The next day, another gynae did a check-up for me. But i don’t felt pain at all. After the check up, the doctor told me i’m healthy, my vaginal is not swollen. Then i’m confused. I repeated to ask the gynae to double checked but he said i’m completely fine. I wasn’t sure about my condition as the outcome of the check up is totally different.
Thus, i make another appointment with another doctor and the doctor said the same. I do not have a problem at all and can plan for pregnancy anytime. He asked did i visit Dr. XXX( The name of the female gynae). I was shocked why he knew it. But, he just smile and told me she is famous and didn’t say much.
I think i knew what is going on by now. Then i asked her why her diagnosis is different from other doctors. She never gave me a reasonable answer. Then i questioned her why on the first visit i need to do so many test for sexually transmitted disease and why i was not informed i need to do such tests. She answered it’s a normal procedure. I was asking for my medical report so i can get advise from other doctors but she rejected me. Then i went off.
But after that, my friend who is also a doctor told me it’s a patient’s right to get their own medical report. I went back to the hospital again to ask from her. But what i get is she refused to see me, even threatened me with security guard, lawyer letter and police. Now i only realised grassroots like me actually can’t do anything to the unfairness as she is richer than me. And i can only accept the fact.
I’m thinking of taking legal action but as of you know, it can be costly and took a long time. But, thank god i’m pregnant 2 months later. I was thinking better don’t get angry and mood disturbed, so won’t affected my pregnancy. Thus, i let go the justice.
To date, i haven’t received any e-mail on the medical report. And the female gynae is still working as usual. The moment she diagnosed me with so many women’s disease. Me and my family were sad and been praying the whole night. I even can’t get back my medical report. I can only blame the google reviews as i blindly believe in those good reviews.
I was puzzled whether to post this as i’m afraid to receive lawyer letter or she reported me to the police. It’s just in the google reviews i found some other victims too. Thus, i make the decision to post it. The following will be my personal advice:
- Don’t blindly believe in Google reviews, think about it how many of us will write a review after seeing a gynae.
- Don’t tell them you have insurance. I believe you know why.
- Make sure you know what medical procedure you going through and what kind of lab test you need to do.
- Make sure you have the receipt for the medicine the doctor prescribed. You must know what to do in the case they said they don’t have a receipt for you.
- In the case the doctor said you need a surgery. Please get a second opinion.
- In the case you need to undergo a surgery, please discuss on the clinical notes or other related reports. Told them it’s for another doctor for a second opinion ( According to the Malaysia’s Law, patient do have right to get their own medical report).
- Before you seek for a second opinion. Please do not deeply believe with your first diagnosis. Don’t let your beloved family worry on your condition.
