I can always smell Famous Amos Cookies in shopping mall from far.. Nobody doesn’t like the Chocolate Chip Cookies from Famous Amos, right?! Cookies are the sweetest little bite of comfort food. That’s why I love having it all the time!
During the period of Movement Control Order(MCO), A Malaysian woman shared a recipe of making cookies which just smell and taste like Famous Amos! It went SUPER viral with over 200,000 shares and 20,000 reactions on Facebook. WOW! So crazy!
Ingredients:
- Butter – 250g
- Brown sugar – 1 1/4 cups
- Vanilla essence – 1 teaspoon
- Egg – 1
- Plain flour – 2 1/2 cups
- Corn flour – 1/2 cup
- Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
- Sodium bicarbonate – 1 teaspoon
- Cooking oil – 6 tablespoons
- Chocolate chips – 2 cups
- Almond nibs / almond flakes – (optional)
▼ Step 1: Combine butter, brown sugar, vanilla essence and egg in a bowl and mix well (by using spatula or spoon).
▼ Step 2: Add in plain flour, corn flour, sodium bicarbonate, baking powder and cooking oil, then mix well again.
▼ Step 3: Lastly, Add chocolate chips into the mixture.
▼ Step 4: After mixing well with chocolate chips, you can add almond nibs, almond flakes, cornflakes or Nestum flakes as much as you like.
▼ Step 5: Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.
▼ Step 6: Thin layer of butter on the baking tray and shape the mixture into small balls.
▼ Step 7: Preheat the oven to 150°C and bake for 20 minutes.
Famous Amos cookies are DONE!
