[Part 2] Man Who Asked Cathryn Li Out For a Coffee Was Charged For Impersonating Civil Servant

Carrick Tan, the man who claimed himself personal advisor for MCMC minister that asked Cathryn Li out for a coffee was arrested for impersonating a civil servant, according to his facebook post.

The Facebook post dated Wednesday, was about him on a handcuff saying himself was charged under Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a civil servant, which carries a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both Section 448 of the same Code for house/office/private property trespass, which carries a maximum six months’ jail, maximum RM3,000 fine or both, upon conviction.

He then wrote, ” TQVM ( Thank you very much)  for reporting me at Putrajaya police station & instructed PDRM ( Polis Diraja Malaysia) to charge me, so that I have a chance to clear my name at court soon. According to China Press, Cathryn Li lodged a police report on Oct 27. Hiring a lawyer to handle the case. Her lawyer contacted MCMC and according to them, the department do not have a civil servant named Carrick Tan. MCMC reported to PDRM regarding this matter too.

On the same day, in the evening Carrick Tan was arrested. Cathryn Li said she was told it’s not the first time that Tan been reported on harassment.
