Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who has been convicted of 7 charges relating to the misappropriation of RM42mil in SRC International funds, he was sentenced to 12 years in jail and a RM210mil fine in default of five years in jail.
According to The Star, Najib is appealing the decision. Thus,The High Court increased Najib’s existing bail from RM1mil to another RM1mil as one of the two conditions for him to be released on bail pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal.
The other condition is that Najib must report to the nearest police station twice a month.
He has paid his RM1mil bail and was seen leaving the criminal high court at around 1:30pm with his son Norashman, who is 1 of the bailors.
With the latest bail paid, Najib’s total amount of bail paid across all his court cases has climbed up to RM7mil.
