Laguna Redang Island Resort Says, Never Authorised Live Streamer to Sell Promotion Package on 11.11. So, The 8,000 Package Sold???

A Malaysian man, a live streamer claimed himself authorised by laguna Redang Island Resort to sell their 11.11 promotion package on social media platform during his live broadcast on Single’s day.

The said 3 Days 2 Nights package priced at RM399 for 2 pax including snorkelling, meals and stays in the 4-star resort with conditions, non-expiry, transferable, free and easy, no surcharge with free 20′ luggage bag and free RM30 restaurant voucher.

According to China Press, the online merchant sold more than 8,000 packages within 2 hours, amounting to a sales revenue of RM3.5 million.

The accused live streamer was said selling seafood in the past. He started his live stream on 12noon, selling the package and claimed the package is non-expiry, transferable and date of the stays can decide later.

He even do a lucky draw online and picked a winner for the newly launch Proton X50 SUV. However, some netizen commented, he faked the lucky draw as the winner Facebook account is only 8 months since she registered and was deleted soon after she won the X50, most netizen thought it’s fishy.

However, Laguna Redang Island resort then took social media and its website to clarify that they never appointed or authorised any online merchant/ live streamer to sell their package.

“Kindly be informed that Laguna Redang Island Resort has never come to consensus in approval, authorised and/or consented to such deal or transaction,” the resort wrote.

According to a Facebook page, FTopNews, the accused live streamer breaking its record with 40.8k of viewers watching his live broadcast on the same time. He also can be heard thanked his viewers for supporting him, he added he started off with RM5,000 sales revenue and to date RM 5 mil revenue.

After Laguna resort statement to clarify regarding the package sold on social media, some viewers was curious about the authenticity of the package sold. Thus, the Taiwan tour package that he was trying to sell at night on Nov 11 only sold out 2,000 packages.

However, Laguna Redang Island Resort already lodged a police report. We are hoping soon we will know the outcome of the investigations.
